SNOW TREE ISLAND

An immersive experiential space designed for the inaugural First Night Austin. “Snow” falling from underneath the canopy of live oak trees accompanied by accumulated snow drifts create a magical microclimate for a warm Texas New Year's Eve celebration. A tight set-up and take-down schedule guided design decisions; hunting tree stands acted as snow machine supports and battery powered head lamps provided a low-fuss solution for illuminating lanterns.
